This policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit EchtVerdient. The public beta has no user accounts, input forms or commenting feature.

2. Hosting and technical access data

OpenAI Ireland Ltd., 1st Floor, The Liffey Trust Centre, 117–126 Sheriff Street Upper, Dublin 1, D01 YC43, Ireland, hosts this website on the controller's behalf using ChatGPT Sites. Delivering a web page necessarily involves processing technical data. This may include the IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, referrer, browser and device information, response status, and security or error data.

This processing is necessary to deliver, stabilise, troubleshoot and secure the website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the reliable and secure operation of this information service. OpenAI processes hosted data as a processor under the ChatGPT Sites data processing addendum and may engage listed sub-processors for this purpose.

3. Retention and international transfers

EchtVerdient does not maintain visitor profiles or its own analytics or log database. Technical hosting data is processed only for as long as needed to provide, secure and troubleshoot the service and meet legal obligations. The applicable ChatGPT Sites agreements govern these periods. Where data is processed outside the EEA, the data processing addendum provides safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses. ChatGPT Sites currently offers no fixed data residency for this website.

4. Cookies, local storage and audience measurement

EchtVerdient itself sets no cookies or similar identifiers, does not persist answers in browser storage, and currently uses no analytics, AdSense, advertising pixels or affiliate-tracking scripts. Navigator answers exist only in the current page state or URL. This does not affect technically necessary hosting security mechanisms. Before any non-essential technology is introduced, this policy will be updated and consent obtained where required.

The Cloudflare security network in front of the website currently sets the technically necessary __cf_bm cookie to detect automated access and protect the site from malicious bot traffic. The cookie contains no identifier from an EchtVerdient user account, is not used for advertising and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, according to Cloudflare. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. Further details are available in Cloudflare's cookie documentation.

5. Navigator, filters and comparisons

Navigator answers are processed only in the current page's volatile state. Initial choices, filters, sorting and saved comparisons may form part of the URL. When such a URL is opened or shared, those parameters may appear in technical hosting logs together with ordinary access data. The available choices contain no free-text fields and create no user account or permanent profile.

6. External links

Provider and source links lead to external websites. They open only after a deliberate click and use noreferrer, so no referrer is sent. The external operator is responsible for processing after its website is opened. Only direct links with no known compensation are currently active.

7. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, the sender address, message and other details you provide are processed to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR, depending on the request. The legitimate interest is responding to enquiries. Information is deleted when the matter is complete unless legal retention or evidentiary duties apply. The mailbox is provided by Proton Mail, operated by Proton AG in Switzerland, and is also subject to Proton's privacy information.

8. Your rights

Subject to the legal requirements, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing and to data portability. Consent can be withdrawn for the future. Requests may be sent to the email address above.

You may also complain to a data protection authority. The controller is supervised in particular by the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony.

9. Required data and automated decisions

Technically necessary connection data is generated when the website is accessed. There is otherwise no statutory or contractual obligation to provide personal data. Sending an email is voluntary. The navigator provides only a non-binding, criteria-based shortlist and makes no automated decision producing legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.

10. Changes

This policy will be updated if features, providers or legal bases change. AdSense, analytics, newsletters and active affiliate technology are not part of this version.
